Ozone layer search for term

The ozone layer is part of the earth’s atmosphere. It is located in the stratosphere, in an altitude of 25-50 kilometers. surface. The ozone layer filters the sunlight, protects us against the damaging ultraviolet radiation (UV-B). Even though the concentration of ozone in the earth’s atmosphere is less then a part per million, it holds back almost 99 percent of the sun’s UV radiation.
