Welcome to the educational platform "in Touch with Health"!

The online learning environment in Touch with Health is designed for teenagers and multipliers who want to look into the subject of skin and sexual health. The central question will be what everybody can do to protect their skin and to support their health. This learning platform is the result of an interdisciplinary project between medical and educational professionals and received financial support from the European Union.

Firstly, the platform contains facts on skin and mucosa. They are presented from the perspective of what can be done to stay healthy, and to still enjoy life. The texts are written in a concise manner and are easy to understand. "in Touch with Health" does not only aim to deliver a lot of facts, but also wants to motivate you to become more aware of your health and to lead a more health literate life.

To fill the learning environment with life, four adolescents will introduce the subjects to you. They are not real, of course, but they could be! They are the main characters in the story “Summer camp” in which the health information is embedded. The medical information has been grouped into four learning modules: three about skin and one about sexuality. Every module starts with an episode of the story where you can read about the latest adventures of the four teenagers. Their experiences have to do with the subjects of the learning environment. Every episode ends with an interactive transition to the medical subjects. These will be a quiz, a movie or a short simulation.

    For pupils: you can use the platform as a self-learning environment if you are interested in the subjects and if you are looking for short and helpful information. Just click on the area "Learning".

   

For multipliers: This learning environment may be a helpful component for your activities within and outside the classroom. In the different elements, we gathered proposals for various teaching and learning activities. You are offered additional suggestions for various teaching and learning activities relating to the thematic elements. Furthermore, you receive useful background information. For your activities, you can use the areas "Learning" and "Teaching".

Technical requirements
The general use of the learning environment in Touch with Health only requires an Internet browser (preferencial: Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3). In order to access certain elements (e.g. videos, animations, assistance), the Flash Player (video, animations, simulations) and the Acrobat Reader (PDFs) are required. Both programmes can be freely downloaded from the Internet, if needed.
